The Great Waiheke Nude marks the seventh Performance Painting collaboration between artists Julia Holden and Audrey Baldwin in an on-going series directly challenging concepts of ‘muse’ and ‘painter’ and Le Grand Nu tradition with an active, feminist reinterpretation. The photograph and video are presented as a record or ‘residue’ of the dynamic live painting performance event before an audience at Waiheke Community Art Gallery, May 2022.
