Lyttelton Redux (2016 - 17) series was originally installed in and around Lyttelton’s remaining buildings following the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, discoverable via Lyttelton Redux Walking Tour paper art map, smart phone app. or online here: https://izi.travel/en/7f03-lyttelton-redux-tour/enwas

23 portraits recreate current Lyttelton locals as notable historical and everyday figures from Lyttelton’s rich past, encompassing a diverse cross-section of Lyttelton’s early communities, reflecting the town’s social history, its connection with the sea and the area’s development over time. In addition, each portrait is accompanied by combinations of archival audio, courtesy of Nga Taonga Sound and Vision, and including audio by and about the present-day subject. The portraits literally speak for themselves.

The Lyttelton Redux exhibition was made possible with support from Creative New Zealand, Lyttelton Museum, Christchurch City Council, Nga Taonga Sound and Vision and Canterbury Museum.

All portraits are 50.5 x 63.1cm, archival pigment print, edition 1/1
