An installation comprising two hand-painted stop-motion animation portraits and two oil on board paintings.

Muse + Painter is an exploration of the notion that beauty has power. The dual works comprising Muse + Painter are made from two series of 500+ individually rendered oil paintings. Each painting has been recorded photographically, the board wiped clean and painted again, with the process repeated many times. The collected hand-painted images are activated using lo-fi stop-motion animation techniques. The private preparations and practices we all undergo before presenting, or performing ourselves in public are revealed. Both subject and object are exposed in the act of ‘becoming.’
